This dual position will allow the opportunity to serve as an Assistant Campus Director, as well as the Lead Teacher for the evening program of Premier High School-Tyler.
Under the direction and supervision of the Campus Director, the Assistant Campus Director will help lead a team of highly dedicated teachers and support staff in providing the best innovative, personalized learning experience for our students. They will utilize their knowledge of instructional best practices to support the staff in facilitating self-directed instruction that adheres to local and federal guidelines, as well as the Premier High School Academic Model. With strong leadership skills, the Assistant Campus Director will guide teachers in creating a safe and effective environment for learning, and may conduct periodic evaluations to identify areas that need improvement. As a campus leader, they will represent the school at conferences and other events, networking with fellow administrators and instructors to remain abreast of relevant advances in innovative, personalized learning. As a key player in the school's discipline, they will also have the opportunity to exercise conflict management skills with students, staff, and parents alike.
As a Lead Teacher, they will be given the opportunity to teach academic content to students and oversee advancement through our program. The Premier program is designed for credit recovery and early graduation for students who thrive in smaller, independent learning environments that emphasize the use of technology and one-on-one teacher/student interactions.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
- Four-year degree from a College or University
- Texas State Teacher's Certification
Experience:
- 3+ years of experience in an educational environment (alternative education a plus)
- 3+ years of experience working with administrative leadership, clients and/or stakeholders, and/or education personnel related to school improvement, facilitation of learning, or related educational interest
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- A passion for High School students
- Ability and patience to work interactively with High School students
- Advanced knowledge of federal and state education laws
- Strong organizational, time management, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to learn teaching curriculum software programs and instruct others on its utilization
- Ability to understand the individual needs of each student and train others on the development of Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
- A clear understanding of goal setting for students and the individualized approach
- Ability to interpret policy, procedures, and student data such as diagnostic test results, state assessments scoring, transcripts, and grade point average
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to lead and manage multiple priorities effectively
- Ability to travel as necessary
- Computer literacy
- Ability to communicate with all levels of students, parents, co-workers, and Campus Director, and Regional Directors

Responsibilities and Duties:
- Plans ways to market the school to increase enrollment and maintain ADA.
- Monitor implementation of the Premier High School model.
- Respond to district requests in a timely manner.
- Mentor or plan for mentoring of teachers as needed.
- Facilitate the development, articulation, implementation, and stewardship of a vision of learning that is shared and supported by students, parents, the community, administrative staff, Campus Director and Regional Directors.
- Advocate, nurture, and sustain a school culture and instructional program conducive to student learning and staff professional growth.
- Ensure management of the organization, operation, and resources for a safe, efficient, and effective learning environment.
- Act with integrity, fairness, and in an ethical manner.
- Understand and respond to, social, economic, legal, and cultural context of the assigned student population.
- Collaborate with teachers, students, parents, and community concerning educational programs.
- Assist with marketing events and activities to promote and increase student enrollment through awareness.
- Establish and maintain relationships with colleges, community organizations, and other schools to coordinate educational services.
- Help oversee the direction of the preparation of class schedules, cumulative records, and attendance reports.
- Regularly checks facility and property to manage maintenance, safety and security.
- Perform special projects, during and after normal business hours, and other duties as assigned NOTE: After normal business hours may include, but is not limited to, Saturday Mandatory State Tutorials.
- Responsible for the Instructional and Program Management for all students assigned, including but not limited to, classroom instruction, after-school and Saturday tutorials.
- Administer and monitor Diagnostic Tests to determine a student's performance level.
- discuss student progress and problems.
- Participate in faculty and professional meetings, educational conferences and teacher training workshops.
- Inspire students with consistency, care, and interest to build self-esteem and promote continued success.
- Praise students, compliment them and encourage them in order to build character.
- Utilize a variety of learning methods to enhance the student learning experience.
- Prepare classroom instructions to promote student success on state assessment exams.
