Form of workA lovely family in Tribeca is seeking a Mandarin-Speaking Nanny for their two children, ages 3 years and 3 months. The schedule for this role will be Monday through Friday, 12-8pm, with some flexibility for additional hours during school holidays or for an occasional date night. Any schedule changes will be communicated well in advance.
Job duties for this role will include transporting the 3-year-old girl to and from school and extracurriculars, proactively planning outings and play dates, handling child-related organization and tidying, and occasional errands. The nanny will be responsible for preparing simple but healthy and clean meals and snacks for the children as needed. The family has a full-time housekeeper, so only light child-related tidying is required. Mom works part-time from home, so candidates should feel comfortable working with her as part of a team, and keeping in communication about the children and daily plans. Despite the fact that mom is home, she is looking for someone full-charge who is able to be proactive and handle the children and household- she is not interested in micromanaging. The ideal nanny for this role will be proactive, energetic, and engaging, with infant and toddler experience.
Mandarin and English fluency is required for this role- the nanny will speak will speak exclusively Mandarin to the children. The family travels approximately 2 times per year, for a week or less, and they would love to have their nanny accompany them. They do have a secondary home in New Jersey, and ideally their nanny would be willing to live-in for a week occasionally during the summer months. This family is seeking a nanny with a history of longevity in roles, who is interested in staying with them long-term. The family is offering a rate of $35-45/hr. as well as 2 weeks of PTO, an unlimited metro card, and a monthly insurance stipend.
