Job Summary and Responsibilities:
A/R Specialist will be responsible for collecting from insurance companies, reading EOBs, doing appeals/reconsiderations, reviewing patient balances to make sure they are true, answering incoming calls from insurance companies, and possess no less than 2 years of revenue cycle knowledge.
Experience:
Minimum of 2 years of medical office experience
Minimum of 2 years insurance A/R experience
Certification/Licensure:
None Required
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Job Duties Include:
- Working all denied COMMERCIAL insurance claims over 14 days EXCLUDING Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS)
- Appeals, reconsiderations, and insurance overpayment.
- Compensation. Work all denied claims and any appeals.
- Check Status of Claims. Use all measures available to check status of claims.
- Form Completion. Complete and process any paperwork.
- Follow-up: Checking status of non-payment claims over 30 days old.
- Correcting errors and re-billing claims, as needed.
- Be available for additional questions and queries from other TEAM members.
Qualifications:
- Extraordinary Customer Service and Team Member Relations – REQUIRED!
- Must have minimum 2 years BCBS A/R Experience currently.
- Must have minimum 2 years medical office experience currently.
- General knowledge of practice management software
- Excel spreadsheets and or other data base software
- Preferred NextGen, Waystar, Availity
