Program Specialist III (Program Specialist)
The Program Specialist performs complex (journey-level) administrative services and technical assistance work for the Business Process section. Work involves processing and tracking various administrative liaison activities. The employee must possess strong attention to detail, punctuality, and the ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality. Observes all applicable agency policies and procedures, including adhering to established leave and attendance policies, safety rules and regulations, and use of state property. May train others. Works under general supervision with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
This position:
· Provides administrative support division-wide by processing, tracking, and reporting of personnel actions, position requisitions, and other human resources activities for DWC; Monitors division-wide contracts including Memorandum of Understandings, Interagency contracts, and purchase orders.
· Serves as primary purchasing liaison for Business Process, enters and approves purchase requisitions in the CAPPs system, responsible for ordering items and supplies.
· Provide support by processing, tracking, and reporting of all related documents for administrative activities including, evaluations, organizational charts, budget, travel, accounting, and technology requests for Business Process.
· Serves as backup to executive assistant in managing and maintaining the Commissioner’s activities such as scheduling calendar, making travel arrangements, routing, and screening calls and responding to routine inquiries from staff; provides internal customer and visitor support for the Commissioner; and
· Assist in special projects.
· Performs other duties as assigned.
This position requires:
· Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in a field relevant to assignment.
· Additionally, this position requires three years’ experience in the administration of a program relative to assignment.

Preferences for this position include:
· Previous experience in providing administrative support at the executive level.

This position requires regular work attendance. The position may be eligible for a hybrid work schedule.
