SalaryThe Insurance Verfication Specialist demonstrates a high sense of urgency. Is an independent conservative risk taker. Provide high-level administrative support by conducting research, handling information requests, and performing eligibility and authorization checks for assigned patients.
Responsibilites & Duties:
- Obtain authorization through various insurance portals
- Maintain updated information in EMR for all authorization dates
- Reveiw reports and troubleshoot issues
- Perform year end eligibility checks for Medcicare/Medicare Advantage
- Serve as main backup to Insurance Verification Coordinator for eligibility checks and authorization requests
- Maintain the confidential information in compliance with HIPPA
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications & Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- One year experience in healthcare setting required, home health experience preferred.
- Demonstrated proficiency in advanced office computer applications.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Valid driver's license, current automobile liability insurance, and reliable transportation
