Application Sales Engineer-Water Technologies

Position Summary:

The Application Engineer provides engineering, technical service, and customer support for the Water Technology product line. This role provides technical expertise to internal and external company resources by providing recommendations regarding company products and their use in a variety of industries and applications. The Application Engineer is to understand all product features, advantages of each product, how the product is commonly utilized in various applications, and how to troubleshoot common problems seen in the field.

Position Responsibilities:

• Complete application engineering requests for valued customers, sales, and customer service teams.
• Knowledgeable of broad Water treatment technologies and display technical expertise regarding their limitations and applications.
• Provide technical support, working directly with customers to understand specific technical requirements, installation issues, and ultimately recommend appropriate products that meet their needs.
• Developing material/energy balances, process design bases, technical descriptions, PFD’s/P&IDs and any other drawings/documents needed to complete the proposal submission and engage any support teams required
• Identify additional technologies that may be required for a specific project requirement.
• Maintain effective communication to build relationships with customers and technical sales engineers.
• Develop presentation materials for educating customers on the use of materials and products.
• Assist with the development of product information and application case studies for marketing and sales teams.
• Collaborate in a team approach with employees across multiple functions and departments

Skillset Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in an accredited Engineering field – Chemical or Mechanical preferred
• 10 years’ experience in process engineering or a related field
• Experience with industrial or municipal water treatment required.
• Team player, with the ability to exercise good judgement under changing conditions.
• The role requires the ability to travel up to 20% of the time.
• Self-motivated and strong project management skills are expected.
• Proven technical and critical thinking skills.
• Highly organized and detail oriented.
• Ability to relate technical information to both highly technical and non-technical customers.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, customer service and sales skills.
