Application Sales Engineer

Role Summary:

Responsible for reviewing customer submitted project specification and determining proposal technical specifications and propose Burner and auxiliary equipment, which will meet customer needs. Also determines what materials will be required to complete the project. This may include such functions as product design and technical definitions, modification to equipment and technical support of the product line.

Essential Duties / Skills:

• Must possess thorough and relevant product knowledge.
• Provide information required to meet customer specifications.
• Communicates technical and/or design information to provide specifications or assistance to Customers, representatives and internal departments.
• Represents the Company in its relationships with customers and/or suppliers.
• Must have the ability to handle responsibilities with effective interpersonal skills and effectively interface with others inside and outside of the Company as required.
• Exercises good judgment and communication skills with professional positions in similar industries or situations.
• Must have a thorough knowledge of and the ability to understand computer design equipment and programs in order to perform complex design and evaluation tasks.
• Position requires the ability to work in a normal office environment and may require occasional exposure to production plant environments with welding and fabrication operations.
• Must be able to occasionally travel, generally by air, and utilize rental transportation.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Internal Contacts: Regular(30%) Design engineers, Project engineers and Project Managers and Normal shop and office contacts, personal.

External Contacts: Regular (70%) Routine telephonic or personal contact with sales representatives, customers and suppliers as required.

Education: Bachelors Degree in Engineering is desired.

Experience: Minimum of 5 years in Sales as an Application Sales engineer.

Physical Skill and Effort: Work requires a few simple, but rapid, hand operations.

Working Conditions and Hazards: Normal plant, shop, field or office conditions. From time to time, slightly disagreeable features. Negligible/little or no exposure.
