JOB TITLE: Sales Application Engineer
EMPLOYER: ACCRETECH SBS, Inc.
DEPARTMENT: Sales
REPORTS TO: North American Sales Manager
FLSA STATUS: Exempt
LOCATION: Greater Chicago Area/Midwest Region
SALARY: Commensurate with experience and qualifications
Are you an experienced engineer with a passion for sales and customer service? Do you enjoy working with clients to assess their equipment needs and provide them with the best solutions? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join the team at Accretech SBS, Inc., as our new Sales Application Engineer!
Grinding and/or Machining experience is a plus!
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Consults with existing and potential clients to assess and understand equipment needs and system requirements.
  • Drafts or assists with the drafting of presentations and other documentation and materials that explain products and services to customers.
  • Provides expertise and support to the sales department to communicate products, services, and client needs.
  • Develop and maintain personal relationships with prospects during the sales process across many different prospects simultaneously.
  • Ensures that the customer’s needs are met, which may include product modifications.
  • Proposes improved materials or products to customers and explains the benefits of changes.
  • Provide support to customers and resolve problems with installed equipment.
  • Prepares product orders and schedules deliveries.
  • Assists with research and development of new products.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organization skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent sales and customer service skills with a proven ability to explain technical products to non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to apply engineering, technology, or other related principles to product sales.
  • Ability and willingness to travel regularly.
  • Ability to meet deadlines, possess good organizational and follow-up skills, be detail-oriented, and able to handle multiple tasks.
  • Regional travel to visit customers and/or potential leads may be required from time to time.
Education and Experience:
  • Engineering or Manufacturing background required.
  • Minimum 3 years of related product or sales experience preferred.
  • Proven track record of driving sales growth.
  • Self-starter and self-motivated.
  • Comfortable working in a metric-driven environment, including reporting on and improving business performance against a set of quarterly KPIs and metrics.
  • Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.)
