This position provides general support of various software applications by applying specific knowledge to ensure effective and optimal use of current applications in collaboration with build teams and implementation/support teams. The Application Analyst may participate in any phase of both large and small projects, maintaining accountability for the success of assigned tasks, operation of assigned system modules, user satisfaction, and user understanding of such applications.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Education:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology or related field preferred.
Minimum Experience:
- At least two years' experience in the information systems field.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to demonstrate skill in the use and support of a variety of software applications commonly used in a health care organization.
- Working knowledge of PCs, collaborative computing tools, process improvement techniques, healthcare information management, general information architectures and technology, system integration, and laws and regulations relevant to assigned applications.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Excellent analytical, logical thinking and problem solving skills.
- In compliance with patient safety standards, must be able to effectively communicate in English. Bi-lingual abilities preferred.
Certifications/Licensure:
- Possession of a valid driver's license in the employee's state of residence.
- ITIL Foundation preferred

- Normal office environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate while in the office.
- Occasional travel to various health system locations.
- Occasional work is required on weekends with advance notice. If the department is deploying a system wide upgrade, weekend work will be required as well as changes in scheduled work time on a temporary basis.
Essential Functions
- Provides consistently exceptional care at all times.
- Provides customer service to users and troubleshoots application/system issues
- Documents and reports system issues through internal chain of command; communication with vendor where appropriate.
- Support new user access requests and access provisioning
- Acts as a point of contact for management and staff in assigned areas related to Barton applications and IS services. Actively participates in interdepartmental meetings and discussions with end department preceptors and managers.
- Provides role-based training and assesses end-user proficiency.
- Identifies and resolves routine problems and issues with assigned applications to ensure high levels of availability and user satisfaction. Maintains contact with users and senior team members to ensure understanding of needs, assignment's and overall goals.
- Specializes in EMR modules and trains new employees to prepare them for their new role. Provide remediation training for current employees that need refreshers on EMR workflows.
- Provide testing and end-user support for quarterly Epic upgrades.
- Responds to the needs of the department by performing other duties, as necessary.
