What you will do!
In the Animal Care Technician II role, you will monitor, observe, and record animal health and welfare daily, as well as complete various standard animal husbandry duties to include water bottle/line and cage checks, provide food/water, and perform cage changes and/or clean cages. You may also be tasked with receiving, inspecting, and putting away incoming animals; as well as maintaining animal housing areas. You will be involved in providing support in the breeding of animal models; performing various duties from weaning pups and sexing and maintaining accurate breeding records to ensure appropriate production levels are met. You will also work cooperatively with the on-site supervisor and/or facility veterinarian to assist with various animal handling needs.
Who are we looking for?
The ideal candidate would possess a high school diploma or GED, in addition to one or more years of related Animal Care and handling experience. AALAS certification at the Assistant Laboratory Animal Technician level (ALAT) or above, OR successful achievement of ALAT certification within one (1) year required. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.
The pay range for this position is $20 to $23 USD per hour. Please note that salaries vary within the range based on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, education, certifications, and location.
