Job Summary
We are seeking a Animal Caretaker for our Insourcing Solutions site located in Baltimore, MD.

In the Animal Care Technician 3 role, you can do that by providing the highest-level quality assurance and control, in addition to coordinating preventative maintenance of equipment, as well as inspecting operation procedures to ensure the integrity of the research.

What you will do!
In the Animal Care Technician 3 role, you will Performs independently in the daily operations of the animal vivarium by providing leadership in husbandry and technical support to the investigative staff in the production and maintenance of breeding colonies necessary for the required animal models. Maintain performance levels consistent with and according to company standards.
In addition, you will use existing SOPs and quality assurance standards to perform daily animal health observations, as well as animal husbandry duties, to maintain quality and health of research animals. You will also need to maintain accurate records of things like animal breeding, as well as housing or support areas, and you may also be tasked with receiving, inspection, and housing of incoming animals. You may assist with restraint, handling, and manipulation of animal species, and you may become involved in the breeding and weaning procedures. Other duties may include monitoring personnel and equipment entry into various rooms, as well as operating required equipment and general housekeeping, when required.
Who are we looking for?
Candidate must posses a HS diploma or GED equivalency required.
Must have Two (2 + years) husbandry experience in a laboratory animal facility. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed
Certification at the Laboratory Animal Technician (LAT) level required. Laboratory Animal Technologist (LATG) certification or have equivalent training and experience to achieve certification and complete a hands-on competency demonstration to show proficiency in procedures such as multiple site injections, blood withdrawals, ear tagging and tissue sampling for genotyping.
The pay this position is $22.00 USD per hour
