Overview:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Admissions Coordinator. As an Admissions Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in providing administrative support and ensuring smooth operations in our Admissions Department. This is a rewarding opportunity to contribute to the overall patient experience and help individuals navigate through the admissions process.
Duties:
- Greet and assist patients in a friendly and professional manner
- Collect and verify patient information, including medical history and insurance eligibility
- Schedule appointments and coordinate with healthcare providers
- Provide accurate and up-to-date information to patients regarding services, procedures, and fees
- Process admissions paperwork and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Maintain electronic medical records and update patient information as necessary
- Collaborate with other administrative staff to ensure efficient workflow
- Handle incoming calls, emails, and inquiries from patients or their representatives
- Assist with billing and insurance claims as needed
- Coordinate referrals to specialists or other healthcare facilities
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility setting is preferred
- Familiarity with medical terminology and procedures is a plus
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient privacy practices
- Strong administrative skills, including proficiency in MS Office Suite
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with SNF software such as PCC and MatrixCare is desirable
- Exceptional customer service skills with a focus on patient satisfaction
