POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Admissions Coordinator is responsible for meeting the customer development objectives of the facility and for leading the admission/marketing process.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Regular, punctual attendance.
- Knowledge of and implementing the facilities admissions policies under the direction of the facility Administrator.
- Responsible for coordinating with the Director of Nurses all inquiries regarding placement to skilled nursing and Assisted Living Director for Assisted Living.
- Ensures that responses to inquiries are handled properly, timely and appropriate follow-up.
- Obtains approval from Director of Nurses and Assisted Living Director prior to acceptance of new residents in community.
- Also has direct line responsibilities to the Director of Marketing for assisted living admits.
- Maintain a working knowledge of federal and state regulation, as related to the pre-authorization, insurance verification for reimbursement.
- Develop and maintain relationships with the hospital discharge planners, senior organizations, medical professionals, and other community contacts to advise them of bed availability.
- Additional Duties as assigned by Leadership.

2 years’ experience in admissions preferred; Medical Insurance knowledge to include HMO, Medi-Care, Medi-Cal Proficient with using Point Click Care, Word, Excel Outlook; Proficient in Faxing, Scanning, Copying, Organizing, Front Desk Switchboard; Excellent Customer Service Skills; Knowledge of healthcare reimbursement programs; Excellent written and verbal communication skills; Knowledge of medical terminology; Independent and self-directed.
PAY SCALE $21.00 TO $25.00 PER HOUR
