Job description

Summary
This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Domestic Defense Industrial Base (DIB) & Major Range and Test Facilities Base (MRTFB) in DoD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
About the Position: This position is located at Letterkenny Army Depot in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, with the Directorate of Missile and Aerospace Readiness (DMAR), Office of the Director.

Duties
  • Perform a variety of administrative functions in support of the Director and management staff.
  • Establish controls to ensure compliance with governing regulations and policies.
  • Work directly with staff on training, time and attendance, supply requests, and personnel actions.
  • Prepare correspondence, reports, and operating procedures using automated systems and software.

Conditions of Employment
  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security clearance.
  • This is a term position scheduled to last 13 months, may be extended up to a maximum of 6 years, and cannot be converted to permanent.
  • Term trial period of one year may be required.

Qualifications

This is a term position not to exceed 13 months. Term positions may be extended up to a maximum of 6 years, and MAY NOT be converted to permanent.
In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience.
Specialized Experience:
One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) preparing administrative documents for personnel actions, property accountability, and supply operations; 2) establishing priorities and assisting management with schedules and suspenses; 3) performing data entry for employee training and timekeeping/leave usage for the organization; and 4) coordinating file and document management in accordance with established procedures. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).
Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience aloneno substitution of education for experience is permitted.
