Multiple locations in a fast growing medical practice looking for Administrative Support Assistants. Current locations looking include West Hampton Beach, Riverhead, North Fork, and Manorville.
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
Experience: One year experience in a healthcare environment, preferably a medical office or hospital setting.
Job Summary: Create a customer friendly environment utilizing exemplary customer service skills; greet patients upon entry to medical office, obtain all pertinent demographic information from patients and family members; schedule and verify appointments. Maintain a well-organized and friendly patient reception environment.
Job Responsibilities:
* Undertakes and provides all services required to fulfill the scheduling function for all appointment types.
* Strives to answer all incoming telephone lines within 2 rings.
* Prepare patient waiting area for the day.
* Meet and greet patients, family members and all visitors.
* Schedule appointments on practice management system.
* Schedule procedures and/or surgeries as necessary.
* Verify insurance coverage, benefits and co-payments.
* Confirm appointments if not using automated appointment reminder system.
* Confirm patient demographics at each visit.
* Update patient demographic and insurance information in electronic health record.
* Ensures patient completes all forms necessary for the patient visit.
* Complete required forms for Worker’s Compensation and No-Fault.
* Collect deductibles, co-payments and/or other outstanding balances and ensure receipts are locked in a secure area.
* Enter all required patient and insurance information into (EPM) electronic practice management system.
* Reconcile front desk charges and payments.
* Relay messages to physicians, physician extender(s) and/or other staff.
* Relay messages as may be required by physicians.
* Obtain referrals for patients referred to the facility
* Tracks all outbound physician referrals if not on EMR system.
* Assist with filing and copying charts and documents, as needed.
* Scan all correspondence/testing into electronic health record.
* Assist with bringing charts to and from the front desk.
* Stock office supplies.
* Prepare new patient charts.
* Keep working neat, clean and free of obstacles.
* Limits and refrains from personal conversations and/or phone calls, text messaging and e-mailing.
* Perform all other duties as assigned

Pay: $19.00 - $26.64 per hour
