Adventist Health Ukiah Valley is located in the county seat of Mendocino County. Surrounded by redwoods and vineyards, it is lush with wilderness. Adventist Health Ukiah Valley operates a 49-bed hospital and affiliated clinics offer both specialty and primary care services.
The newly built emergency department operates with a physician on duty 24-hours a day and is designated as a level IV trauma center. Each year, Adventist Health Ukiah Valley treats more than 25,000 patients in its emergency room, performs more than 5,000 surgical procedures in its hospital based and ambulatory surgery center, delivers nearly 850 babies and performs more than 43,000 radiology tests.
Job Summary:
Leads the team in reaching its fundraising activity and revenue goals through strong oversight of campaign, prospect and board management. Manages fundraising initiatives as assigned with a focus on accountability, best practices and collaboration. Motivates team toward donor and grateful patient engagement. Participates in special campaign and related leadership projects. Acts as a spokesperson for organization as requested. Supervises and directs the activities of various levels of assigned personnel using both professional and supervisory discretion and independent judgment.
Job Requirements:
Education and Work Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Required
- Master's Degree: Preferred
- Seven years' experience in Philanthropy Operations: Preferred
- Ten years' fundraising experience: Preferred
- Five years' leadership experience: Preferred
Licenses/Certifications:
- Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) accreditation: Preferred; Will need to be achieved within 12 months of employment
Essential Functions:
- Meets annual activity and financial performance metrics and ensures cost effectiveness of all expenses. Manages the campaign committees, including staffing, Identifies and qualifies new major gift prospects and oversees campaign and donor pipelines, donor engagement strategies and communications. Organizes efforts of volunteers as needed. Maintains active portfolio, moving prospects through the fundraising cycle.
- Assumes responsibility for fiduciary accounting of funds raised through campaigns, initiatives and projects. Oversees all non-direct fundraising staff ensuring that all advancement functions operate according to best practices. Ensures the overall movement of the campaign and all annual fundraising activities.
- Serves as a role model for the Foundation. Participates in search committees, task forces and other special teams. Develops and maintains productive relationships with physicians and staff to support fundraising initiatives. Possesses thorough knowledge of the key fundraising priorities for hospital.
