Position Summary
The Administrative Coordinator of Students Services facilitates comprehensive Student Services processes. The Coordinator coordinates and assists with pre-college orientation, admission processes, registration, retention, advising, and success coaching as well as maintenance of Student records. The Coordinator evaluates transcripts as needed, assists with ADA. This position will also perform duties as necessary for the administration of all federal, state, and local financial aid programs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Serves as an academic success coach for students.
  2. Assists students with career exploration and selecting a career path.
  3. Assists with student records, proctoring tests and exams, and ensuring reasonable accommodations are provided for students with documented disabilities.
  4. Assists with the delivery of prescribed ADA services.
  5. Assists with textbooks in alternative formats to students with disabilities in adherence to copyright laws and protocol.
  6. Assists with College compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (as amended) and Title 504 of the Vocational Rehabilitation Act of 1973 (as amended) for students.
  7. Maintains a collaborative and highly professional relationship with faculty, staff, and students.
  8. Consults with the Dean of Students and college administration on ADA compliance issues and risk mitigation as related to ADA compliance.
  9. Serves as a point of contact, when needed, for applicants and students and assists student in completing the admission process and registration.
  10. Assists students with applications for graduation and performs degree audits as needed.
  11. Assists with Student Services functions, including: recruiting, pre-college orientation, enrollment processes, dual enrollment, registration, withdrawals, and student verification.
  12. Coordinates student activities as directed and serves as a club or organization sponsor as assigned.
  13. Travels throughout service area as needed to assist with Student Services events and duties as assigned.
  14. Evaluates transcripts for students as needed.
  15. Assists students regarding Alabama Transfers articulation agreement as needed.
  16. Assists students with the financial aid process to include receiving applications and responding to questions from current and prospective students.
  17. Assists students with completing financial aid applications including responding to questions to prospective, new, and continuing students.
  18. Participates in and assists with professional development for faculty, staff, and community stakeholders as assigned.
  19. Serves on standing committees and attends college meetings as assigned.
  20. Submits weekly schedules and Student Services tracking forms and enrollment and Student Services data in timely manner as directed.
  21. Adheres to the policies, rules and standards of Central Alabama Community College, Alabama Community College System, accrediting agencies and federal regulatory bodies.
  22. Ensures institutional compliance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
  23. Prepares required reports as required by Central Alabama Community College, the Alabama Community College System, and other regulatory agencies.
  24. Performs other duties as assigned and as related to Student Services division.
  25. Assists with administration of the CRM (Target X) in data management and protocols.
  26. Assists with National Student Clearinghouse submission as needed.
  27. Assists with Beginning and End of Term processes as needed.
  28. Aids in all areas within Student Services or for other departments as assigned.

  1. Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution is required.
  2. Ability to maintain confidentiality is required.
  3. Ability to use sound and professional independent judgment and make solid decisions based on policy and established processes is required.
  4. Ability to work flexible hours is required.
  5. Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with students, co-workers, and the public is required.
  6. Ability to work and travel to all campus locations and travel to attend conferences for professional development is required.
  7. Ability to organize and prioritize work is required.
  8. Proficiency using Microsoft Word and various types of computer software packages is required.
  9. Ability to read, comprehend, and apply local, state and federal regulations is required.
  10. Exceptional listening, verbal, written, organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills are required.
  11. Ability to multitask and be flexible is required.
  12. Ability to provide exceptional customer service is required.
  13. Professional appearance and demeanor are required.
  14. Valid driver's license is required.
  15. Experience in enrollment services and Student Services in higher education is required.
  16. Experience in academic advising and academic support services is preferred.
  17. Master's Degree from an accredited institution is preferred.
  18. Experience using transfer articulation agreements in advising students is preferred.
  19. Experience in educational software information systems is preferred.

Sick Leave
All regular full-time non-instructional staff earns one day of sick leave which is the equivalent of 8 hours of sick leave per month. Unused sick leave is rolled over to the following year. Upon retirement, employees are allowed to convert unused sick time into service time for the purpose of retirement. Retirement
The TRS was established in 1939 to provide benefits to qualified persons employed by state-supported educational institutions. Responsibility for the management and administration of the TRS is vested in its Board of Control. The Boards of Control elect the Secretary-Treasurer who serves as the Chief Executive Officer of the RSA and is responsible for the day-to-day management of the RSA. The TRS is a defined benefit plan qualified under Section 401(a) of the Internal Revenue Code.
