Franciscan Monastery USA, Inc. is Hiring an Administrative Assistant Near Washington, DC
SUMMARY:
The Franciscan Monastery is seeking to hire a full-time Administrative Assistant to join our team in Washington, DC. The Administrative Assistant will assist with day-to-day operations in this busy office environment led by the leadership of the Franciscan Friars. The successful candidate will have the ability to work with minimal direct supervision, efficiently multi-task, and maintain his/her composure working in this religious office. This position requires a pleasant demeanor, professional presentation, telephone courtesy, and outstanding communication skills, both written and oral. The successful candidate should also be comfortable with maintaining database information, be familiar with correspondence protocols, and be willing to do other duties as assigned.
WORK LOCATION
The Administrative Assistant will work in person from the office at the Franciscan Monastery during core business hours of 9:00 am to 5:00 pm EST.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide confidential administrative support to the Franciscan Friar leadership and senior staff
- Serve as a liaison between the monastery and third-party vendors for any billing or general inquiries
- Assist development office, as needed, with mailings, phone calls, and reporting, etc.
- Coordinate calendars, schedules, meetings, video presentations, teleconferences, agendas, events
- Prepare, compile, distribute, and coordinate meeting and teleconference materials
- Attend and prepare minutes from board and committee meetings
- Assist with office organization, filing, manage office supplies, and administrative operations
- Prepare, review, and edit various office correspondence documents
- Other administrative duties as assigned by the leadership of the Franciscan Friars
REQUIREMENTS
- Working knowledge of MS Office including Outlook, Word, Excel, & Power Point
- Excellent calendar management
- Ability to take both oral and written direction
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Self-starter with ability to follow-through with minimal oversight
- A high degree of professionalism in the production of deliverables and interactions with fellow employees and friar leadership

Associate’s degree
COMPENSATION

Pay: $42,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
