Activities Assistant
Eden Heights of Edenis seeking a full-time Activities Assistant to join our dynamic team. The Activities Director will oversee the day-to-day operations of the center and will be responsible for the coordination of activities, programs, and services.
Qualifications:
- Must possess or have the ability to obtain a valid Buffalo, NY driver’s license.
- Must possess or have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Must possess strong interpersonal skills and be able to work effectively with individuals and families.
- Must have a passion for working with individuals with developmental disabilities and provide them with the resources they need to thrive.
- Must have a passion for working with individuals in the senior community.
- Must have an interest in community service and/or volunteer activities.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and oversee all activities at Buffalo, NY including staff development, program development, facility maintenance, and equipment upkeep.
- Ensure all programs are properly staffed and administered. Ensure that all facility policies, procedures, and regulations are followed.
- Ensure that all facility policies and procedures are followed regarding staff safety, food safety, sanitation, security of records, and other policies and procedures as may be required by state regulatory agencies or by other governmental agencies or organizations (i.e., state licensing agencies). Ensure that all facility policies regarding staff attendance are followed. Ensure that staff are properly fed and hydrated before and during programs. Ensure that all program policies are followed regarding staff attendance (i.e., required attendance sheets). Ensure that staff are properly dressed for programs when necessary (i.e., provide uniforms). Ensure that all program policies regarding staff transportation are followed (i.e., required transportation sheets). Ensure that staff are properly escorted from vehicles during program activities or outside of the facility when necessary (i.e., required security procedures). Ensure that all facility equipment is maintained throughout the year (i.e., lawn mowing). Attend professional development courses as assigned by department leadership to continue to develop as an individual as well as continuing education on related topics relating to Eden Heights of West Seneca programs and policies (i.e., state regulations).
