Are you motivated, enthusiastic, responsible, and hands on? GrandeVille Assisted Living is currently seeking a Full Time Activity Assistants to support our Activities Director. The ideal candidate preferably will have 1-2 years of activities experience or an Associates Degree from an accredited college in Recreation. High School or equivalent diploma and commencement of studies through a school of higher learning, directed towards subjects related to the activity/recreation field or equivalent experience required. The hours for this position are 30 hours per week with every other weekend availability and occasional holidays. Reliable transportation is a must!!
Summary:
Assists with planning, organizing and direction of activity and recreational services. This includes, but is not limited to: spiritual development, recreation, intellectual and educational development. Coordinates activities to ensure compliance with established standards and with regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Assists Activities Coordinator with planning, organizing and direction of activities and recreation which provide entertainment; inter communication; exercise; relaxation; opportunity to express creative talent; fulfillment of basic psychological, social, spiritual needs; and, which will be available to all residents subject only to medical and personal restrictions and limitations.
- Adheres to policies, under the broad directives of the Administrator and COO, pertaining to total quality resident care.
- Acts as a community liaison and coordinates their services to provide broad and expanded varieties of social and recreational services.
- Encourages social communication among residents through group activities and recreation.
- Plans parties, provides games and encourages resident participation.
- Encourages residents to fulfill their basic spiritual needs through visits with clergy and attendance at provided religious services.
- Orients new residents and their families to the daily activities and recreational routine of the facility and assists each resident in adjustment to the facility.
- Encourages resident participation in facility and community services.
