COMPENSATION: $19/ hour Part-Time
This is a season long stadium specific role and is expected to start in March and conclude at the end of the MLS season.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
This position plays a vital role in creating and managing of minor and family Match Day Activation group experiences associated with all home New York City FC matches. The goal is to create a warm, child-friendly, positive experience for minors who are participating in Match Day Activation groups along with ensuring an efficient and safe delivery of Match Day Activation experiences. The ideal candidate must have welcoming, customer facing approach and strong group and events management skills with previous experience working with young people ages 6-16.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
- Assist Match Day Events team welcoming and organizing Match Day Activation fan groups to the Stadium, establishing a fun, warm atmosphere and delivering a positive overall experience for: Player Mascots, Flag Kids, Banner Groups, and Ball Retrievers.
- Manage supervision and safety of Match Day Activation groups, ensuring all participants are cleared with security, safe movement through various parts of the Stadium, on field activities, and post-activation dismissal.
- Prepare and demonstrate to participants role-specific tasks related to their activation group and coordinate with Match Day Operations ensuring timely and professional delivery of opening match on field activations.
- Coordinate and communicate with multiple departments: Ticketing, Match Day Events, Operations, and Safeguarding.
- Ensuring pre-match preparation, safety checks in Stadium spaces used for Activation Groups, make quick adjustments and problem solve any last-minute challenges ensuring safety and coordination between Groups, Operations, and Safeguarding
- Act as a brand ambassador for New York City FC and our partners as needed.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING:
- Experience working in event production, preferably with an emphasis in sports and/or entertainment.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage fully with fans and attend to multiple needs.
- Experience working with large groups of children and parents, using a child-centric approach.
- Ability to assess a situation and think and act quickly without the assistance of senior members of the team.
- Ability to anticipate future problems, needs or challenges rather than responding once occurred.
- Ability to quickly adapt to a change and a willingness to take on work/instructions should last minute changes occur
- Ability to work collaboratively with multiple teammates in various departments.
- Must commit to working all home matches rotating across multiple stadiums in the Tri-State Area
- Preferred Skill: bi-lingual language skills specific to Spanish
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Applicant must be able to comply with MLS Next Safety and Well-Being policy and any other applicable child safety policies provided to applicants by NYCFC
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as necessary.
