The team

Finance ensures that Route grows in a sustainable, efficient, and intelligent way, over the short and long-term. This small but mighty team of financial analysts, accountants and other specialists act as trusted partners to the entire 400+ person-company, supporting departments in annual budget management, creating regular reports for the board and leadership, streamlining processes, and implementing best practices. They bring the expertise needed to constantly deliver smooth financial operations for Route.

The opportunity

As an AR/Payroll Specialist within our Accounting group at Route, you'll be a core part of building and designing efficient and operationally excellent Accounts Receivable and Payroll functions. In this role, you will support senior stakeholders in the design and administration of Sales compensation plans, perform institutional compensation analysis, lead the invoicing and collections process with our customers, and partner closely with other departments to help manage customer relationships.

We're looking for someone with a strong attention to detail and an in-depth understanding of payroll processes, accounts receivable, controls, and reporting. Our ideal candidate can provide thoughtful and analytical decision support for compensation planning and analysis, as well as assist with further development of the HR and Finance organizations. They understand how to drive continuous process improvement, proactively identify and implement solutions that deliver value to the groups supported, and have the desire to figure things out quickly in a fast-moving environment.

What you'll do

• Process accounts receivable transactions
• Process payroll, ensuring that employees are paid the correct amount
• Continuously evaluate current policies and make recommendations for process improvements
• Handle sensitive information in a confidential manner
• Provide support for internal and external audits
• Perform account reconciliations in a timely and accurate manner
• Become an expert in Accounts Receivable with the ability to answer questions from coworkers and customers

What we're looking for

• 2+ years of experience in Accounts Receivable, Payroll, or a related field
• Extensive knowledge of the payroll function including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication, organizational, interpersonal, and presentation skills
• Detail-oriented and able to quickly adapt in a fast-paced environment
• Previous experience with Paylocity and NetSuite helpful but not required

Pay Transparency

Salary for this role: $51,000-$70,000 based on experience

The cash compensation above includes base salary, and is not reflective of potential commission for employees in eligible roles, or annual bonus targets under Route's bonus plan for eligible roles. In addition to cash compensation, all Route employees are eligible to participate in Routes equity incentive plan to receive stock options per the terms of the agreement. Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay. Individual compensation packages are based on a few different factors unique to each candidate, including their career level, skills, experience, specific geographic location qualifications and other job-related reasons.
