Position Summary:

DLS is looking for a talented and passionate Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our dynamic accounting team. The Accounts Receivable Specialist is responsible for ensuring proper coding of Accounts Receivable invoices to the general ledger and ensuring that all customer invoices are issued in a timely manner.

A Day in the Life of an Accounts Receivable Specialist at Discovery Life Sciences:

• Ensure that all customer invoices are correctly coded to the general ledger.
• Issue customer invoices promptly.
• Work closely with the accounts payable and other accounting staff to ensure financial data accuracy
• Assist Sales and Project Management teams in handling customer issues that require credit memos.

Position Qualifications (Education, Skills, Experience):

• Bachelor's Degree required.
• 1-3 years of Accounting experience
• At least 1 year of Relevant Experience in Accounts Receivable
• Must be organized and process oriented. Experience managing complex processes is a plus.
• Multi-company Accounts Receivable experience preferred
• Proficient in accounting software (Net Suite, Financial Force) and Microsoft Office Suite
• Proficiency in Excel required
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and manage key stakeholder relationships across the organization.
• Must possess a willingness to learn and grow to meet the changing requirements of the business
• Manage and follow-up on multiple concurrent tasks and requests on tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensures proper coding of Customer Invoices to the general ledger
• Makes sure customer invoices are issued promptly and sent to customers via email or portal
• Work collaboratively with accounts payable and other accounting staff to ensure accuracy in finances
• Works with Collection Specialist to track and maintain a low DSO (daily sales outstanding)
• Assists Sales and Project Management with customer issues requiring credit memos
• Confirming product delivery to ensure proper revenue recognition
• Maintains financial security by adhering to internal accounting controls
• Special projects as directed by the management team
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor. These may, on occasion, be unrelated to the position described here

Location and work hours:

• Hybrid work schedule- in office at least 3 days a week
• Office located in Huntsville, AL
• Flexible work schedule, start time between 7am and 9am local time
