Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable Specialist

This role is on-site in Spicewood, TX M-Thur with flexible Fridays. ( We are looking for someone commutable to this location )

Our client is a local small business that is looking for a talented AP/AR Specialist to join their team in Spicewood, TX.

In this role, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and completeness of their Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable operations across the business. You will provide administrative and clerical support by processing, verifying, and reconciling invoices, monitoring expenses, as well as working with both vendors and customers on AP and AR related issues.

You'll work closely with the company's Operations Leader and Controller of the business for the first 3 months understanding HOW they operate and WHY they do the things they do. Armed with this foundation, you'll be able to help improve processes as the company grows.

There is a progression trajectory in this role into an accounting position and you will be mentored directly by the controller of the business.

Responsibilities:

• Own the AP and AR functions across the business.
• Keeping track of all payments and expenditures, including payroll, purchase orders, invoices, and statements.
• Creating invoices and ensuring they are on point and correct.
• Ensuring journals are updated and correct.
• Ensuring Data is entered and correct.
• Paying vendors by scheduling paychecks and ensuring payment is received for outstanding credit, generally being the vendor and customer contact for AP and AR
• Working with the Accountants to improve payment processes

Qualifications:

• Quick Learner. A basic foundation in either AP and AR, or bookkeeping is required but beyond that, being "sponge-ey" with regard to learning is the most important thing.
• Attention to detail
• Strong communication and collaborating skills
• Experience with Excel. Experience with Netsuite or other software.

Bonus points:

• Experience with Netsuite or other accounting software.
