Job Summary

The Concours Club is seeking an Accounting Payable Clerk who will be performing routine clerical, filing, and data entry tasks for accounting data including Accounts Payable, billing, and receivables as well as accounting budgets and other financial records using manual and computerized systems.

Key Job Responsibilities

• Ensures financial data is entered correctly and accurately from invoices into Jonas Club Accounting software.
• Classify expenses to proper account based on the Chart of Accounts and direction of the Senior Accountant.
• Reconcile invoices to purchase orders and receipts and resolve any discrepancies.
• Route invoices to the appropriate departments for approval, and follow-up to ensure timely payment.
• Prepare scheduled weekly payment listings for approval.
• Maintenance of prepaid and auto-pay AP accounts.
• Respond to vendor inquiries regarding payment status or discrepancies and internal inquiries related to Accounts Payable activity.
• Reconcile vendor statements, and research and correct discrepancies.
• Verification of new vendor's information related to federal ID numbers (accurate W-9 Forms), reviewing purchase orders and resolving discrepancies.
• Assist with accounting records, and audits in areas related to Accounts Payable and ensure successful monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities.
• Assist with other projects or general office support.

Skills & Qualification Requirements

• Ability to enter data accurately and efficiently into computer software and systems.
• Understanding of Accounting General Ledger
• Understanding of Accrual Basis of Accounting (Prepaids & Expenses)
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to verbally communicate in a professional and effective manner.
• Ability to work well under pressure ensuring all deadlines are met.
• Must be detail-oriented while working in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be organized to consistently code vendors to proper GL Accounts.
• Partners well within a small accounting team setting.
• Some college accounting classes are preferred but not required.
• 1-3 years of A/P, A/R, or accounting experience preferred.

Work Environment

This job is performed usually indoors and outdoors, in a controlled environment, and has intermittent levels of high stress.

Physical Demands

Accounts Payable Clerk must have the ability to sit for long periods of time on a computer, lift, stoop, bend, reach, and carry 15+ pounds

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. The candidate is expected to work on a regular schedule during the week.
