Accounts Payable Associate - Houston, Tx

Summary of Responsibilities

The Accounts Payable Associate will be responsible for the processing PO/non-PO invoices, reconciling vendor statements, and troubleshooting any other AP related issues. AP Associate must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment which requires a proactive approach to duties, complex problem-solving, excellent decision-making, and top-notch time management. This role will report directly to the Accounts Payable Manager.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities

• Accurately/efficiently processes invoices for timely payment.
• Proactively reconciles statements/accounts and communicates with Vendors on outstanding issues; builds and maintains strong relationships with Vendors.
• Partners with internal departments to resolve any PO/non-PO discrepancies and assists with inquiries that fall within their alpha assignments.
• Performs basic data entry within department systems.
• Assists with clerical functions when necessary to support the Accounts Payable Department such as sorting/scanning mail, check mailing prep, etc...
• Support with the management of the AP email box
• Other ad hoc duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications

• Cloud Suite Distribution (CSD) ERP experience preferred.
• Strong Excel skills (Xlook-up/Vlook-up, Pivots)

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years of complete full-cycle A/P experience
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to prioritize, multi-task and work independently with limited supervision.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Must have a strong sense of urgency to meet deadlines.
• Excellent written/verbal communication skills

advice and guidance on non-routine or problem areas from supervisor. Deviations from the norm are cleared by the supervisor.

Environmental Job Requirements

• Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
• Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
• No travel required
