The purpose of this position is to ensure the timely and accurate recording of receipt of good and payment of outgoing invoices to suppliers, vendors, and other entities. The Accounts Payable Associate will provide influential guidance and support towards departmental policies and procedures, serving in a team capacity.
Checks figures, postings, and documents for correct entry, mathematical accuracy, and proper codes
Operates computers programmed with accounting software to record, store, and analyze information
Complies with federal, state, and company policies, procedures, and regulations
Debits, credits, and totals accounts on computer spreadsheets and databases, using specialized accounting software
Classifies, records, and summarizes numerical and financial data to compile financial records, using journals and ledgers
Calculates, prepares, and issues bills, invoices, account statements, and other financial statements according to procedures
Compiles financial, accounting or auditing reports and tables pertaining to such matters as cash receipts, expenditures, Accounts Payable and receivable, and profits and losses
Codes documents according to company procedures before issuing checks
Accesses computerized financial information to answer general questions as well as those related to specific accounts
Operates 10-key calculators, typewriters, and copy machines to perform calculations and produce documents
Interfaces with other internal departments and demonstrates understanding of interdependencies across multiple business functions within the organization
Assists in the interviewing and onboarding process of new staff members to the organization
Demonstrates initiative in contributing towards continual internal process and procedure improvement
Performs other accounting specific, cash handling, or business critical functions within the scope of accounting
Consistently adheres to all Company standards, policies, and procedures
Minimum high school diploma or equivalent GED
Vocational School or associate degree in business management or accounting
Five (2) years of Accounts Payable or similar experience in a related capacity
