Ten Oaks, a hardwood flooring manufacturer nestled in the scenic Blue Ridge Mountains of southern Virginia just west of Martinsville and north of the Triad, is growing and is looking for an Accounting Technician. The right candidate will perform typical accounting tasks primarily related to Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Banking, and Reporting in compliance with Company policy and procedures. The candidate will support the Financial Controller and Accounting staff in the preparation of the monthly financial statements and government remittances. The ideal candidate has a strong working knowledge of cloud-based computing systems and excellent interpersonal skills.
HIGH EFFICIENCY TASKS and SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Accounts Payable
- Enter vendor invoices timely and accurately into Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) daily, ensure invoices are coded to proper general ledger accounts; maintain files
- Manage vendor and lumber payment terms to maximize cashflow; process timely and accurate vendor and lumber payments in D365; select invoices to be paid; print vendor checks weekly or as needed; print lumber checks daily; ensure checks are signed by authorized signers and mail checks
- Prepare check payment files and upload to Positive Pay module in online banking system; monitor Positive Pay daily for flagged transactions, research issues, and resolve
Accounts Receivable
- Enter customer receivables timely & accurately into D365 regularly, resolve customer invoice payment discrepancies with Sales Team; prepare bank deposit
- Assist with financial month-end and year-end reporting, journal entry preparation and entry, and reconciling payables and receivables subledgers to general ledger; identify, research, and explain or correct anomalies as directed by the Financial Controller
- Provide information and participate in financial audit processes, including but not limited to Fiscal Year-End Financial Statements, 401K Plan, Workers Compensation, General Insurance, and Sales and Use Tax
- Support process and system improvements for payables, receivables, and reporting
- Provide information as required by other departments
- Ensure compliance with Company and Government accounting policies and procedures
- Participate in training relevant to position (D365, Excel, other Microsoft tools, and various software)
- Perform other duties as assigned.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
BACKGROUND
Minimum associate degree in accounting. Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting preferred; relevant Designation/certifications are an asset

Minimum 2 Years Accounting experience
