Job Summary:
Under general supervision, the Accounting Specialist 1 - Travel Coordinator- processes travel reservation requests for the Arizona Department of Child Safety while adhering to the policies and regulations outlined in the State of Arizona Accounting Manual (SAAM). The Travel Coordinator will use automated accounting systems and applications to retrieve and review data files, analyze information, and reconcile expenditures. Additionally, the Travel Coordinator will be responsible for setting up tables of accounts and assigning entries to the appropriate accounts.
This position may offer the ability to work remotely, within Arizona, based upon the department's business needs and continual meeting of expected performance measures.

Job Duties:
- Process all in-state and out-of-state travel reservation requests for both staff and clients of the Arizona Department of Child Safety, which include requests for hotel accommodations, airfare, conferences, and rental cars.
- Compile all items for the Travel Packets while providing required chart of accounts elements to ensure correct recording of fiscal transactions.
- Responsible for supporting the reconciliation process of In-State and Out-of-State Central Travel Accounts.
- Log and track travel reservations to ensure smooth follow-up and team collaboration on inquiries and concerns.
- Provide Customer Service to both internal and external customers with regards to Travel inquiries.
- Other duties as assigned as related to the position.

- Accounting principles and financial regulations
- Reference materials such as federal regulations, Arizona Revised Statutes, applicable agency manuals, and policies and procedures relating to Travel Requests

Selective Preference(s):
The preferred candidate will have customer service experience.
Pre-Employment Requirements:
High school diploma, GED.
Must be able to secure and maintain clearance from DCS Central Registry.

Retirement:
