Job Overview
Verify, obtain approvals and pay all invoices from vendors and associates in a timely, accurate manner in accordance with accounting policies and procedures.
Bill and collect all revenue owed to the hotel in an accurate, timely manner in accordance with accounting
policies and procedures
Responsibilities
Responsibilities
Work in conjunction with the night auditors and department managers to maximize revenues and ensure accuracy of postings through processing the income audit daily meeting deadlines.
Work closely with sales managers to ensure accurate/timely group billing, group deposits are received, and follow up with and manage hotel A/R aging.
Analyze financial data and resolve discrepancies and provide open communications and recommendations for changes and efficiencies as appropriate.
Balance, reconcile and close various daily accounts and prepare the daily statements to provide accurate, timely information to management while ensuring proper controls are maintained.
Respond to various chargebacks timely to ensure property resolution and notify necessary departments of continual issues/problems.
Review invoices received for purchase orders, routing to proper managers, reviewing GL coding, ensuring proper entry into Accounts Payable.
Review Tax Exemptions and ensure property documentation
Respond to customer issues/complaints/problems in a quick efficient manner to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction and quality service.
Prepare reports and communications to the Controller, General Manager and other Hotel Executive Committee members on revenue issues/problems and other pertinent information.
Maintains a friendly, cheerful and courteous manner at all times.
All other duties as assigned, requested or deemed necessary by management.
Qualifications
Education/Formal Training
High school education or equivalent experience.
Experience
Accounting background preferred, but not required.
Knowledge/Skills
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
Ability to compile facts and figures.
Basicl Excel Skills
Ability to operate personal computer and calculator.
Telephone etiquette skills needed.
