Pay Rate: $25/ HR
Our client, a leading private university located in Los Angeles, is looking for an Accounting Clerk to join their team. This position will play a vital role in the day-to-day accounting operations within the main university Bookstore.
Responsibilities:
- Process invoices for Bookstore vendors
- Participate in the monthly close process by ensuring that all accounts payable processes and procedures are completed by month-end deadlines
- Reconcile vendor statements against accounting system, including vendor balances and research discrepancies, as needed
- Prepare monthly inventory balance sheet reconciliations, research discrepancies and partners with the unit managers to resolve the issues
- Maintains credit memos and matches the documentation with open invoice
- Follows up on open accounting items (i.e., processes, reconciles, monitors
- and reports accounting activity)
- Reconciles bi-weekly freight bills
- Requests check refunds in lieu of credit memos for payments on inactive accounts
Education & Experience:
- Associate or bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, or related field
- Working experience within a higher education environment is a plus
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office application (Word, Excel, Outlook, ect.)
