About the role:
We are looking for an Accounting Clerk to join our team. This is an entry-level position. You will play a critical role in maintaining the efficient operation of our accounting department. You will be responsible for performing a variety of accounting tasks related to construction projects. The ideal candidate should have a fundamental understanding of bookkeeping principles and be proficient in Microsoft Office applications. We are looking for an individual who is organized and detail-oriented.
Responsibilities:
Accounts Receivable Duties:
- Prepare monthly bill out schedule
- Assist creating monthly client invoices
Accounts Payable Duties:
- Monitor incoming invoices emails daily
- Print out and code supplier and subcontractor invoices
- Copy and file posted invoices
- Reconcile and pay supplier monthly billing statements
- Review open invoices on a weekly basis
- Resolve disputed invoices with overhead vendors
- File paid payables
- Responsible for the orderliness of the file and storage room
- Transition accounting room files annually
HR Support Duties:
- Organize and ensure completeness of weekly timesheets for the HR Manager
Other accounting duties:
- Perform journal entries, void checks and reverse transactions
- Manage staff uniform purchasing and distribution
- Create completed Job Warranty/Info binder for clients
- File invoices from invoices email to client files on server
- Monitor accounting office supplies and reorder as needed
- Perform special projects as needed
Further Requirements and Personal Characteristics:
- Accounting and/or Finance degree required with transcript
- Provide at least 3 personal and professional references
- Possess problem solving skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks
- Ability to work effectively and positively within a team of professionals
- Excellent communication skills
- Professional personal presentation
