Our Cross City location in Florida, United States is currently seeking talent to fill the position of Accountant. This job is permanent, full-time.
We are looking for someone eager to join our Accounting department to Assists in all accounting functions, including processing weekly and monthly general ledger entries, monthly reporting, preparation and analysis of financial information, and preparation of annual operating and capital plans to provide accurate and useful information to management.

YOUR CHALLENGES:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each of the essential functions satisfactorily.   1. Assists in the preparation of financial statements to include the monthly balance sheet, income statement, cash flow and capital expenditures and maintains related records. Analyzes variances between actual and operating plan and reports results to management.
  2. Maintains the general ledger to include the preparation of journal entries, coding of invoices, account analysis and reconciliation, closing books monthly and setting up new accounts.
  3. Assists in the preparation of financial/operating forecasts and plans for use in measuring, planning, and controlling business operations.
  4. Acts as the back-up for lumber and by-product deposits.
  5. Acts as the back-up for the Controller's duties, including banking reconciliations and banking transaction oversight.
  6. Performs such individual assignments as management may direct.
  7. Establishes and maintains effective work relationships within the mill, the company and the community.
  8. Complies with environmental regulations when using, dispensing or handling hazardous or non-hazardous materials and wastes.
  9. Maintains the professional competence, ethical integrity, knowledge and skills necessary for the satisfactory performance of all assigned responsibilities.
  10. Performs work following safety procedures and practices.
  11. Regular attendance is required between the assigned start and end times for work. Exhibits regular and punctual attendance habit to comply with existing attendance requirements.
  12. It is an essential function of the job that the individual will not be a direct threat to the health or safety of themselves, others, or property. Direct threat is defined as a significant risk of substantial harm that cannot be eliminated or reduced to an acceptable level by reasonable accommodation without creating an undue hardship on the Company.
  13. Works in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.

WORKING CONDITIONS
Works in an office environment. Requires operation of computer & printer, copy machines, phone systems and other office equipment. Must wear appropriate personal protective equipment as designated by the company including but not limited to safety glasses, hearing protection, clothing and footwear in the Mill area and must follow safety practices.
MENTAL DEMANDS
Must be able to work in a constant state of alertness and concentrate for long periods of time.

This position is designated as a safety sensitive position because it requires working with highly sensitive and confidential Company and customer information. Performing this job in a discreet and professional manner requires alertness at all times. Any lapse in attention could have a significant financial impact on the Company and its customers.
YOUR PROFILE:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
  • Professional work experience a plus; 2 years experience preferred.
  • Proficiency with computers. Ability to learn and use computerized accounting systems such as SAP, GP, and LumberTrack. Familiarity with MS Office products.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent problem solving skills.

SPECIALIZED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
  • Ability to apply accounting principles/theories and concepts to real world situations and problems.
  • Attention to detail - ability to prepare clear, concise financial records and reports. Ability to design and produce various ad-hoc reports.
  • Analytical skills - ability to analyze data and assimilate into a useful format.
  • Ability to work under pressure, to work independently using varying degrees of judgement and discretions, and to maintain confidential information.
  • Ability to work effectively within a teamwork environment.
  • Ability to effectively plan, prioritize, and organize.
