Sr. Accountant

Overall Responsibility: Provides accounting and analytical support and is responsible for all aspects of monthly financial reporting.
Requirements
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Prepare journal entries and schedules that support month-end, quarter-end and year-end financial reports in accordance with GAAP.
• Assist in overseeing accounts payable processing including all facets of cash management and disbursements (ACH, wire and checks).
• Oversee CURise reporting and consolidation.
• Assist with and provide support accounts receivable transactions including billing, invoicing and cash receipts up to and including ASC606 Maxio support.
• Prepare account reconciliations for key accounts and periodic analysis to ensure transactions are booked accurately and timely in the correct accounts.
• Research variances in key account balances and explain variances between actuals and forecast to management.
• Manage ASC842 ongoing entries and lease administration.
• Prepare financial section of the quarterly board report which includes monthly financial reports.
• Manage budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Provide active backup for the annual patronage dividend calculation, disbursement and 1099 process.
• Interface with external auditors concerning routine transactions and assist in the preparation of schedules for the annual audit.
• Produce ad hoc analysis, reports and other projects as needed.
• Assist in identifying potential process improvements, documenting new policies and procedures and contributing to sound internal control development.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & ABILITIES
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree (BA or BS) from an accredited college or university plus a minimum of four (4) years' experience in the specific or related field. BS/BA degree in Accounting or Finance or related field preferred. Or High School Diploma or equivalent plus a minimum of eight (8) years' experience in the field.
