Account Manager/Director

POSITION SUMMARYThe Accounting Manager/Director will have primary day-to-day responsibility for planning, implementing, managing and controlling all reporting/recording of the financial-related activities of the health clinic. This will include development and management of the budget process, grant compliance and administration, general accounting, oversee payroll administration, accounts payables, coordinating the health clinic’s assets/liability recording/reconciliations, writing/implementing procedures and assisting in policy development. These responsibilities involve initiative and creativity, continuous process improvement, strong customer service and using appropriate methods, e.g. benchmarks, to measure success in achieving performance objectives.

• Lead the Finance/Accounting department/functions and advise executive leadership on the financial implications of business activities.
• Monitor, supervise and evaluate all daily department activities and direct reports.
• Lead and take a hands-on position in developing, implementing, and maintaining a comprehensive budgeting process.
• Participate as required in financial strategic planning – developing and evaluating short and long-term financial objectives.
• Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures.
• Ensure all financial transactions are recorded accurately and timely.
• Ensure compliance with all accounting regulations and standards.
• Produce timely and accurate financial reports, including cash flow statements.
• Ensure that effective internal controls are in place and ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable federal, state and local regulatory laws for financial and tax reporting.
• Lead and direct the month and year end close process.
• Responsible for successful completion of financial and the financial portion of grant audits.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, Master’s degree preferred.
• Experience in financial grant management.
• Proven knowledge of accounting regulations, practices and standards.
• Attention to detail, organization, and accuracy.
• Strong management skills.
• Experience with Intacct financial accounting system, preferred.
• Previous non-profit experience preferred.
