Overview: 

The Account Director supports the agency Shopper Marketing team and plays a critical senior role to contribute to the success of client's business as well as our internal growth within the organization. You will play a key role in all disciplines from strategic development to execution. In this role, you will serve as a lead agency contact for major CPG clients and play a vital role in the training and development of your internal agency teams. This candidate is dialed into the competitive landscape and has a firm grasp on the client's category, industry, and business. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop strong and effective relationships with clients with ability to offer strategic counsel.
  • Play an integral part in driving agency revenue, new clients, and building on existing client relationships.
  • Quickly become familiar with client's brand (requirements, messaging, creative) and effectively work with internal teams to ensure programs are following client protocol.
  • Possess mature insights and critical assessment of overall agency business, and SHOPPER MARKETING strategy and tactics.
  • Provide solid and trusted SHOPPER MARKETING counsel to PC peers, industry partners, vendors, and clients.
  • Improves agency systems to ensure client expectations are fulfilled while agency profitability is protected.
  • Takes actions, makes key decisions, and develop account team in client facing roles.
  • Collaborate with other account teammates, creative, and/or external teams to develop marketing programs and solutions for client.
  • Organize and lead client facing presentation decks and meetings, preparing all relevant documents.
  • Manage, analyze, and present campaign results.
  • Serve as an agency ambassador and leader to help grow the SHOPPER MARKETING business. 
  • Develop a thorough understanding of the program scope with the ability to establish and manage budgets.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively and professionally.
  • Act as a role model and mentor for more junior staff, including SAE's, AE's, and AAE's
  • Collaborate with staff outside of core team when needed to enhance program or new business initiatives.
  • Help develop SOW/Fee proposals for new clients.
  • Maintain a strong knowledge base of all Product Connections offerings and capabilities.

 

Education / Experience:

Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in related field, 7+ years of Agency multi client experience; 4+ years Shopper Marketing Experience.  Must have proven account management skillset in creating, maintaining, and enhancing client relationships.  Must have a thorough understanding of agency processes.  Experience managing Shopper marketing programs (digital, print, in-store, omnichannel, retail media)

 

Skills & Abilities:

Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to develop strong relationships with clients, internal staff in all departments and vendors.  Strong written and verbal communication skills. The ability to work in a dynamic environment and adapt to shifting priorities and deadlines. Able to articulate business problems and challenges and work towards a solution. Independent thinker with exceptional teamwork skills

        

Computer Skills/Tools & Technology:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint, and etc.)

 

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this position, the team member is regularly required to be able to: sit, stand, talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse and/or other peripherals. Listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences. Read and understand information and ideas presented in writing.  Communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand.  Identify and understand the speech of another person.  Communicate information and ideas in writing so others will understand. Light to moderate lifting may be required from time-to-time up to 30 lbs.

 

Work Environment:

Primarily office environment with mild to moderate noise levels. Frequent interaction with co-workers, vendors, and consultants. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

 

Language Skills: 

Ability to present facts and recommendations effectively in oral and written form.

 

Reasoning Ability:
