JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB TITLE: Irrigation Service Technician

REPORTS TO: Irrigation Service Manager

WORKS CLOSELY WITH: Irrigation Sales, Irrigation Parts Manager, and Location Manager

JOB SUMMARY: Perform diagnosis and repair of irrigation systems, routine maintenance activities on irrigation systems and construction of new and used irrigation systems along with ancillary projects including trenching and pipeline installations. Must be willing to work safely, work extended hours and work outdoors all year in all seasons and weather.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Responsible for performing repair, maintenance, and construction duties as directed
• Must possess basic mechanical skills and be willing/able to perform basic electrical repair and maintenance safely
• Responsible for maintaining and caring for company vehicles, company-owned tools and equipment
• Must be certified or able to be certified for safe operation of forklift, skidsteer, telehandler, boomtruck, backhoe and trencher.
• Must be able to read directions and successfully follow assembly instructions
• Must participate in company training activities and routine safety meetings
• Must complete all work orders and forms required in conjunction with work assignments
• Must record time spent and material used per project on a daily basis
• Should have current driver's license and be able to operate company vehicles including pulling trailers, CDL a plus

EDUCATIONAL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• HS Diploma desired, Vocational/Technical training a plus
• Pivot experience or equivalent technical training desired, but willing to train the right person

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Extended periods of walking, standing, climbing, bending, must be able to lift 75lbs regularly. May be exposed to extreme weather conditions from extreme heat to winter blizzard conditions.
