- Plans machining by studying work orders, engineering drawings, materials, specifications and machining parameters.
- Programs machining centers by entering instructions, including zero and reference points; setting tool registers and offsets.
- Loads feed mechanism by lifting stock into position.
- Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample workpieces.
- Maintains specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning, facing, knurling and thread chasing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.
- Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
- Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.
- Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
- Documents actions by completing production and quality logs.
- Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
- Prior CNC experience in a Production environment
- Must have the skill to read prints, decipher tolerances, proven capability with measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, bore gages, vision systems, etc.
- Must be able to set up machine to produce parts to a part print and layout. This involves changing collets, cutting tools, and making adjustments on machine and tools.
- Must know G code and M code for the Spinner and Lathe machines.
- Must be able to perform basic math, geometry, and trigonometry, utilize hand tools, and have basic mechanical abilities.
- Must have positive attitude and ability to take complete ownership of area.
- A work history of compliance to safety, quality, and productivity standards.
- A work history that supports a good to excellent attendance record.
- Strong mechanical abilities
- Detail oriented approach to daily work activities
- Able to work well in a team oriented work environment.
- At least 2 years of CNC laser operating experience in a production environment
- At least 3 years Manufacturing experience
- Walking, Standing, Sitting Kneeling (Frequently)
- Lifting, Carrying up to 50 pounds (Occasionally)
