Located on the downtown Orlando campus, Orlando Health Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women & Babies provides programs and services focusing on the unique needs of women and babies. Orlando Health Winnie Palmer provides specialized care that covers all facets of women's health, from comprehensive gynecological services and minimally invasive surgeries to obstetrics and high-risk pregnancies and births. It is recognized by the World Health Organization and UNICEF as Baby-Friendly, is certified in perinatal care by The Joint Commission, is "Magnet" recognized for nursing excellence and high-quality patient care and is designated as a Center of Excellence in Minimally Invasive Gynecology and in Robotic Surgery. Orlando Health Winnie Palmer welcomes nearly 14,000 babies each year. The hospital's 350 beds include 142 neonatal intensive care beds, making it one of the largest neonatal intensive care units under one roof in the country.
Position Summary
The Environmental Services Technician level I isresponsible for executing the daily dutiesrequired to establish and maintain a safe, clean, healing environment. Responsible for ensuring daily room cleaning and timely room turnaround times related to patient through out within the basic principles of environmental hygiene and infection prevention. The Environmental Services Technician, in accordance with
organizational standards of quality, is an essential contributor to cleaning, disinfection, infection prevention, and customer experience.
Responsibilities
Essential Functions
• Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, using appropriate designated engagement techniques.
• Responsible for the cleaning and disinfecting of patient rooms and ancillary areas, to include, but notlimited to, bathrooms, public
areas, corridors, medication storage rooms as directed and any other areas that may require attention using designated and appropriate chemicals and cleaning procedures.
• Must have good working knowledge and be capable of accessing and using all department related technology systems, such as but
not limited to, the Bed Management systems.
• Replenishes supplies as needed, remove bio-medical waste, trash and soiled linen as required daily and changes cubicle/window curtains as needed.
• Completes patient room and bathroom cleaning daily to accommodate discharges/admissions and overall cleanliness standards utilizing the approved proceduresfor patient room cleaning to include Bed Managementsystems where applicable.
• Performs duties while demonstrating working knowledge ofthe health care cleaning and disinfecting principles and requirements, proper and safe chemical use, equipment handling, and labor-saving products for all items within the healthcare environment for which tasked with servicing.
