POSITION SUMMARY:
The Medical Technologist (ASCP) performs accurate, precise, and timely patient test results for the diagnosis and management of human illness. Utilizes automation, computerization, and manual methods. Responsible for quality control and instrument operation, maintenance and troubleshooting. Position handles blood, tissue, fecal matter, sputum, urine, spinal fluid and other bodily fluids. Specimens may be contaminated with infectious diseases including HIV and other blood borne pathogens.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Associate degree
ASCP - American Society of Clinical Pathologist
MLT - Medical Laboratory Technologist Certification
Successful completion of the board of registry examination of the American Society clinical pathologists (ASCP) or equivalent certifying organization
