GENERAL JOB INFORMATION

Title: Regional 211 Resource and Transportation Coordinator

Reports To (Title): AVP of Community Impact

Job Type: Exempt

Department: Community Impact

FLSA Classification: Full Time – Exempt/SOC #21-1099

Salary Range: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00

JOB SUMMARY

The Regional 211 Resource Coordinator is responsible for leading the curation, maintenance, and enhancement of the South Carolina 211 database in Berkeley, Charleston, and Dorchester counties. This position is integral to establishing and developing key partnerships throughout the region, conducting service provider training, increasing utilization of 211 services, and leading overall outreach, marketing, and community engagement strategies. The role also includes coordinating with the 211 team to monitor and enhance service quality, as well as managing the essential and growing Transportation Services Program to coordinate reliable, affordable transportation information for seniors, individuals with disabilities, and other vulnerable populations in Berkeley, Charleston, and Dorchester counties.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage Resource Database

  • Update existing 211 database listings to reflect current and accurate agency information.

  • Communicate new resource data meeting 211's inclusion/exclusion policy and best practices to the AVP of Community Impact and 211 Database Manager.

  • Attend 211 team meetings.

  • Participate in community-led meetings.

  • Provide 211 presence at community events, as needed.

  • Share ideas and provide input to help Trident United Way (TUW) and United Way Association of South Carolina (UWASC) respond to the unique needs of the community.

  • Perform other duties as assigned or requested by TUW.

  • Ensure the database remains current, accurate, and useful to all appropriate stakeholders, in partnership with UWASC 211 staff.

  • Coordinate with the 211 Team Staff to measure community trends, improve referral outcomes, deliver actionable reporting, and ensure the 211 database remains responsive to all needs in the community.

  • Conduct a landscape analysis of transportation programs, application requirements, and costs in Berkeley, Charleston, and Dorchester counties.

  • Community Engagement

  • Strengthen community engagement and outreach activities.

  • Participate in community-led meetings, conduct service provider training, coordinate site visits, participate in outreach events with community partners, and maintain regular communication with all community stakeholders.

  • Engage community stakeholders to develop professional relationships, gather community feedback, offer issue resolution, and improve the overall 211 service and experience.

  • Partner with Community Impact staff to further community partnerships, the TUW vision and mission in the region, and avoid duplication of services provided.

  • Facilitate the Transportation Services Program at TUW’s two Resource Connection Centers (RCCs).

  • Refer RCC clients to transportation services.

  • Assist RCC clients with completing transportation program applications.

  • Utilize CharityTracker to monitor transportation referrals, application assistance, and other measures as specified.

  • Regularly convene transportation providers and human service providers, in partnership with Berkeley, Charleston, and Dorchester Council of Governments (BCDCOG), to share information and best practices.

  • Educate the public and other human service provider agencies about transportation options in Berkeley, Charleston, and Dorchester counties.

  • Quality Assurance

  • Monitor 211 contacts to measure key areas of strength, growth, and development.

  • Develop and implement effective quality assurance strategies to ensure the success of 211 service delivery, special initiatives, and responsiveness to community trends and priorities.

  • Assist with the development of training material for 211 agents and community partners.

  • Attend transportation options training provided by BCDCOG and other community partners.

  • Manage the Transportation Services Program

  • Coordinate reliable, affordable transportation information for seniors, those with disabilities, and other vulnerable populations in Berkeley, Charleston, and Dorchester counties.

  • Improve coordination, utilization, and public education for existing transportation providers.

  • Develop centralized resource lists overlapping all available public and private transportation options and ensure they are listed in 211.

  • Identify gaps in services and collaborate on solutions.

  • Train RCC staff to provide application assistance for transportation needs.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide advocacy (as assigned) for 211 users seeking resources in the community.

  • Share ideas and provide input to help Trident United Way respond to the unique needs of the community.

  • Engage in team meetings and demonstrate the Trident United Way culture at all times.

  • Maintain availability during times of disaster to assist 211, which may require extended hours, off-site work, and additional responsibilities to ensure the safety, security, and access to quickly changing information throughout each stage of the disaster.

  • Perform other duties as assigned or requested.

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience

  • Two years of project management experience is preferred.

Skills and Attributes

  • Proficiency with the MS Office Suite of programs.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize assignments.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Positive attitude and skilled in partnering.

  • Diplomatic when engaging the public.

  • Bring passion and a positive outlook to the role.

  • Valid Driver’s license and current auto insurance

  • Persuasive communicator with excellent written and oral presentation skills and the ability to create a variety of written business documents and present complex messages.

  • Project manager with proficiency in various business processes and operational tasks.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS OF THE JOB

  • This job requires exerting up to 20 pounds of force frequently and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.

  • Team Member must frequently use typical office equipment (telephone, copier, printer, fax, etc.).

  • Team Member sits most of the time.

  • Team Member communicates with constituents, clients, and/or partners by phone and in person.

  • Routinely required to navigate other facilities and occasionally travel by car.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This is a hybrid position. Primarily works in a climate-controlled office-based setting. The opportunity to work remotely two days a week is available.
