We are a small engineering/manufacturing company in Charleston, WV, and are looking for a bookkeeper/administrator for our office. THE MOST IMPORTANT QUALIFICATION FOR THIS JOB IS BEING DETAIL ORIENTED. Work tasks are simple, but you must not be forgetful. A custom manufactured heavy metal industrial product must be perfect in every detail, and our office administration must be error free and comply with every minute detail requested by customers. While we use software and databases, none of those tools will help if our office staff do not treat all information with perfect attention to detail.
ACCOUNTING EXPERIENCE IS VALUED, but we will consider entry level candidates. Most importantly, inexperienced people who were good with details have been much more successful in our office than much more educated/experienced people who kept forgetting small details. Our environment is the opposite of something like a restaurant kitchen; most people don't mind if their steak is cooked slightly more than they specified, but for us, slight deviation from customer specification derails a huge project. Engineering is all about details, and all of our administrative activity reflects that.
If you are a recent graduate, we will need to see an academic transcript for your most recent degree in addition to your resume. Accounting-related degree is NOT necessary, but would be a plus.
