Sasaki interns get hands-on experience, develop valuable professional connections, and gain a deep understanding of how a leading firm operates and innovates. While roles and responsibilities range based on project work at the time, interns can expect to further their working knowledge of design inspiration and iteration, technology, and best practices. Interns will be a part of project teams delivering real-world solutions to clients.

Interested? Here is what you need to know:
- Location: Boston, MA, Denver, CO, or Brooklyn, NY
- The Summer Internship is an in-person internship. Sasaki’s current policy is that employees collaborate in-person at least 3 days each week at the office.
- 10-12 week program from June 3rd, 2024 - August 30th, 2024 (end dates will be determined based on academic need/requirements but start date is firm)
- Applications close/due: Friday, January 19
- Interviews: ~2/5 - 2/16
- Notifications: ~2/19 - 2/26
- $25/hr

URBAN DESIGN SPECIFIC
What you bring:
• Actively pursuing a degree in Urban Design or related field from an accredited program. Background(s) in architecture, landscape or planning a plus.
• Ability to work enthusiastically in teams
• Excellent design talent and graphic communication
• Be willing to contribute ideas in a team setting
• A passion for sustainable, resilient, and equitable design
• Strong understanding of place-making, urban form and building typologies
• Familiarity with current technology and ability to work across multiple platforms to produce work of exceptional quality
• Proficiency with languages spoken in frequent project locations (Spanish, Chinese, or Vietnamese) is a plus
What you'll do:
• Work collaboratively in multi-disciplinary teams consisting of planners, architects, landscape architects, and Urban Designers
• Get exposed to multiple scales and contexts including campuses, urban districts and neighborhoods, research and innovation clusters, new communities, and beyond
• Engage in all aspects of the design process including analysis, conceptual ideas, design development and documentation
• Create 2d and 3d analytical and conceptual drawings, graphics, digital and physical models
• Be challenged and inspired to help create innovative 21st century places and environments
• Learn about and assist with different project phases, helping project teams with their daily functions and roles; learn about the various aspects and general operations of a multi-disciplinary design firm.
• Help generate design concepts and present design intent across multiple platforms
• Provide flexibility in developing alternative concepts to solve complex design problems
• Work effectively and smart, always thinking of ways to be most effective with your time
