Youth Development Specialist

The candidate must be at least 24 years of age and flexible to work evenings and weekends.

This position is a second-shift position that includes working alternate weekends.

Purpose: To provide services that will help improve the social and psychological functioning of teens in a group home setting.

We are looking for Energetic individuals who can provide care for up to 5 youth, ages 12-18, in a 24-hour group home setting. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, while providing quality care is essential. The ideal candidate will have experience working with at-risk youth, and have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Essential Duties and/or Responsibilities: Youth Development Specialist (YDS) will supervise and care for adolescents in a group home setting. Our Youth Development Specialists are responsible for maintaining a therapeutic environment for residents while running the daily schedule and routine of the home. Youth Development Specialists work both one-on-one with youth participants, as well as running group recreational activities. Youth Development specialists will interact with residents while providing a positive, safe and caring environment. Youth Development Specialist will assist program participants as needed. Provide routine Case Management for residents, and maintain accurate documentation as required. Supervise residents during visitations, educational and recreational activities. Youth Development specialists will consult with parents, teachers, caseworkers, and other school personnel to determine the causes of problems such as truancy and misbehavior, and work to implement solutions. Youth Development specialists will also counsel residents whose behavior, school progress, and or mental or physical impairment indicate a need for assistance.

Please note that Youth Development Specialist also helps to identify building maintenance issues and submit work orders to the Revive Youth & Family Center's Program Director. Monitor building cleanliness, performing housekeeping duties when necessary to ensure the highest standards are maintained daily. Keep an inventory of cleaning supplies, and prepare meals for residents. Monitor food sanitation. Maintain safety and security of the house. Complete other duties as assigned.
