Position Summary:
The Residential Development Specialist position develops and maintains a network of high quality and culturally competent residential service providers to meet members’ needs; monitors Lakeland Care’s (LCI) Provider Network to ensure both adequacy and capacity, and builds positive working relationships with residential service providers, community representatives, county departments, Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) staff, and others to develop and maintain contracts and community resources necessary to meet the needs of LCI’s population.
Responsibilities & Competencies:
- Recruit new providers and promote expansion within the current provider network.
- Creative problem solving in finding and developing needed Providers and services.
- Offer prospective providers a comprehensive overview of Lakeland Care and the Family Care program.
- Use data to monitor Network Adequacy and Capacity, and work proactively to ensure we have enough Providers to meet Member needs.
- Establish regularly scheduled meetings with providers. Quarterly contact with unutilized Providers to keep them engaged with LCI.
- Through phone and in person contact, maintains positive working relationships and timely communication with service providers, community supports and stakeholders.
- Attend and assist in the coordination of residential provider forums and other activities to educate providers on agency procedures, service delivery, and contract standards.
- Attend community events, networking events, conferences, professional meetings such as State work groups, State/Regional meetings, community provider association meetings, and others relating to scope of work as assigned.
- Collaborate with IDT staff; attend meetings, as necessary, to discuss provider updates and issues, educate on contracts, addendums, and provider resources and enhance understanding of provider expertise.
- Participate in Annual Quality Review (AQR) and Certification processes; assist with the quality improvement/quality assurance plan.

Requirements:- Bachelor’s degree in a human service or business-related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience (includes knowledge, skills, and abilities).
- Experience working with the population(s) served in the Family Care program preferred.
- Knowledge of service provider industry, subcontracting, and licensing and regulatory systems beneficial.
- Knowledge of network provider contracting in a managed care model.
- Current driver’s license, acceptable driving record and proof of adequate insurance required.
