The Making a Change Group (MACG) is dedicated to empowering youth, strengthening families, and serving as a community connector in Chester, PA and its surrounding townships. Youth Development Specialist for Team MAC is a Part Time, non-exempt, position. This position reports to the Program Coordinator. We are also hiring a full-time Youth Development Specialist for the Connected Visions Program.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
· Support recruitment of program participants
· Serve as a mentor for youth in school-based and OST Team MAC programs, developing strong, nurturing relationships with young people and providing strong leadership and guidance
· Facilitate small and large group workshops focused on social-emotional skill development, using curriculum derived from 40 Developmental Assets
· Ensure that youth stay engaged in programming, providing weekly check-ins and follow up
· Support MACG events, as requested
· Collaborate with community partners for in-school youth programming
· Complete requested reports & timesheets in a timely manner
· Participate in regular supervision and team meetings
· Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
· Associates degree required; Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred
· 1 – 2 years of experience working with young people preferred
· Comfort in and commitment to working with youth (ages 8 and up)
· Culturally sensitive
· Strong written and oral communication skills
· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
· Demonstrable interpersonal skills, including the ability to collaborate and engage with colleagues as well as outside constituents
· Self-motivated, with a demonstrated ability to take initiative, multi-task, anticipate needs and exercise independent, sound judgment.
· Strong time-management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and video conferencing software required.
· PA Driver’s License and access to a vehicle with appropriate insurance coverage
· Successful completion of child abuse, FBI, and criminal clearances

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
