Job description

Summary: Perform x-ray examinations as requested by physicians during the patient office visit in a private practice setting. Assist in coordinating daily operations of x-ray department for two locations. Duties and responsibilities (includes, but is not limited to the following)

  • Perform and produce diagnostic images using x-rays. Monitor patients during exams, ensuring their safety.
  • Prepare radiology rooms for exams, including sanitizing all touched surfaces between patients.
  • Room and prepare patients for x-ray procedures. Explain procedures to patients and answers questions.
  • Verify exams on PACS.
  • Import to PACS images received from other facilities.
  • Copy images to CD for patients as requested.
  • Coordinate maintenance/repair of x-ray equipment.
  • Plan and coordinates Xray department staff.
  • Identify problems, reports them and offers suggestions for improvement.
  • Answer phones; retrieve and respond to voicemails.
  • Attend meetings as required.
  • May be required work at all locations (Montgomery or Mark West).
  • Regular and reliable attendance is required to perform the functions of this position.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Supervisory

  • This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities

Education, licensure and/or certifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Current CA license as a radiologic technologist required.

Experience

  • 1 year x-ray experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of PACS required.
  • Experience using Electronic Health Record required.
  • Microsoft Word and computer experience preferred.

Knowledge, skills and abilities

  • Skill in answering the telephone in a professional, pleasant, and helpful manner.
  • Skill in operating a computer and other office equipment (i.e., scanner, fax, etc.)
  • Knowledge of grammar, spelling and punctuation to type patient information.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees and the public.
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to speak clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to read, understand and follow oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to use electronic health record, basic Microsoft Office applications and general office equipment (e.g. copier, scanner, fax).

  • Involves standing and walking.
  • Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
  • Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator and other office equipment.
  • Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare and communicate appropriate reports.
  • Requires lifting papers or boxes up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Requires dexterity to type 30 wpm.
  • Requires exposure to bodily fluids.
  • Requires exposure to ionizing radiation.

  • Frequent exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, and ionizing radiation, medicinal preparations and other conditions common to a clinic environment.

Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour
