W2 Contract Role
Position Description: as a Workshop Logistics Coordinator within the Climate Information Services Branch. In this crucial role, you will be instrumental in identifying suitable locations, contracting with organizations, planning logistics, and coordinating travel for in-person workshops, with a specific focus on those funded by the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA).
Responsibilities:
- Identify suitable cities/towns for in-person workshops, coordinating with Government approval and aligning with project priorities.
- Contract with companies or organizations to provide meeting space, audio/visual support, and other logistics for IRA-funded workshops and engagement activities
- Plan and execute logistics for all in-person workshops, ensuring a seamless and well-organized event.
- Coordinate guest travel for critical stakeholders participating in IRA-funded workshops, facilitating their attendance.
- Draft and obtain Government approval for workshop agendas, ensuring alignment with project goals and stakeholder objectives.
- Create and disseminate digital save-the-date notices, formal invitations, and post-workshop activities to enhance engagement.
- Document workshop activities, discussions, and outcomes including lessons learned.
Required Skills:
- Experience in event planning and logistics coordination, ensuring the successful execution of workshops.
- Strong organizational and coordination skills to manage multiple aspects of workshop planning.
- Knowledge of audio/visual requirements for workshops, contributing to effective presentation and communication.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to draft and execute workshop agendas, aligning with project goals and objectives.
- Strong documentation and record-keeping skills to ensure thorough and accurate event documentation.
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of multimedia production tools and software.
- Familiarity with Government approval processes for workshop-related activities
- Passion for environmental and climate science.
Minimum Qualification/Requirements:
- Three or more years’ experience in event planning, logistics coordination, business administration, or related disciplines.
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
Ability to Relocate:
- Asheville, NC 28801: Relocate before starting work (Required)
