Summary
Performs all assigned duties with no supervision. Responsible for maintaining a proficient understanding of all tasks within the Supply Chain Logistics departments (Central Supply, Distribution, and Laundry Linen) and in turn training all personnel on the proper execution of those tasks, to include development and maintenance of written standard operating procedures.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Warehouse, distribution, manufacturing, or Supply Chain Logistics experience is preferred. Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing experience is highly desirable. Valid driver's license and a driving record sufficient to obtain clearance by Risk Management to operate company owned vehicles. Proficient ability to use computer programs such as Outlook, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word. Ability to interact professionally and cordially with other employees in Logistics as well as other departments in the facility. Excellent customer service skills, to include effective written and oral communication. Ability to be flexible to daily changes in operational and patient care issues while maintaining a positive attitude. Ability to handle stressful situations well and utilize critical thinking skills if necessary. Continuous walking and pushing carts to all areas of the hospital. Discretion in the proper handling of confidential information is mandatory. Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions and communicate these effectively in a manner that is appealing and not offensive to the trainee. Reads, writes, speaks, and understands English.Must be able to see and hear. Visual acuity is necessary when working with delicate instruments. Manual dexterity required when reaching, handling, adjusting, and lifting instrument trays or boxes that may weigh as much as 50 pounds. Pushing carts with loaded weight as much as 200 pounds, ability to walk several miles per day, and long periods of standing are required to perform daily activities.
