Job description

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Strategy & Planning Consultant within our Strategy Digital and Innovation (SDI) organization supporting Wealth and Investment Management (WIM) Strategy. This role will report to the head of cross WIM strategy and deliver against the following key responsibilities:

  • Facilitate the annual WIM strategic planning process. Work closely with senior business leaders to define strategic goals and objectives. Facilitate cross functional alignment and monitor and track against the strategic goals and initiatives

  • Drive cross WIM strategy consulting initiatives (with a focus on Technology and Operations engagements). Collaborate with the business to develop and implement action plans to achieve strategic objectives

  • Conduct competitor intelligence analysis in partnership with our Finance, Analytics and Market and Competitive Intelligence (MCI) teams to produce actionable business insights. Gather and analyze market and competitive data to identify trends, opportunities, and threats

  • Help drive innovation across the wealth management experience for advisors, clients and support functions making it easier for customers to achieve their financial goals

In this role, you will:

  • Lead complex initiatives with broad impact and act as key participant in large scale planning

  • Provide principal level strategic consulting services to client organizations

  • Represent Wells Fargo on Industry boards and committees

  • Review and analyze complex larger-scale or longer-term challenges that require in-depth evaluation of multiple factors including intangibles or unprecedented factors

  • Identify strategic business investments and alliance opportunities

  • Make decisions in complex situations that influence and lead the broader work team to meet deliverables and drive new initiatives

  • Provide guidance to less experienced staff

  • Evaluate and approve process of identified opportunities

  • Collaborate strategically and consult with all levels to resolve issues and achieve goals

  • Partner with executive management across Wells Fargo to define the business strategy and create then execute corresponding business plans and initiative

  • Communicative strategy and related business plans to management

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of Strategy and Planning experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in financial services

  • 5+ years of consulting experience with leaders and stakeholders

  • 5+ years of Project Management, project development/implementation, strategic planning, process management, change delivery experience, or equivalent

  • 5+ years of experience supporting multiple large-scale projects

  • Experience effectively assessing stakeholder, partner, or client needs while consulting, building solutions, and developing processes

  • Strategic planning experience in translating leadership vision into executable strategies and initiatives enterprise-wide

  • Experience building partnerships and consulting effectively with leadership

  • Leadership skills including the ability to influence effectively in a matrix environment

  • Experience owning program strategy, end-to-end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally at all levels including executives, regulators, managers, and SMEs

  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and deploy soft-skills to move work forward despite challenges

  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy with ability to evaluate data and draw meaningful business conclusions

  • Strong time management skills and ability to meet deadlines

  • Thrives in fast-paced agile, dynamic environment and can track multiple, complex projects simultaneously

  • Adapts to changing priorities and excels in ambiguous scenarios with a mindset to continue moving forward

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite of applications including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams and SharePoint

Job Expectations:

  • This role does not offer visa sponsorship

  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time

  • Relocation expenses will not be offered with this position

  • Candidates must be willing to work on site in Charlotte, NC, New York City, NY

This position is subject to FINRA Background Screening Requirements, including successful completion and clearing of a background check. Successful candidates must also meet ongoing regulatory requirements including additional screening and are required to report certain incidents.

Pay Range

$111,100.00 - $237,100.00
